BSNL has launched 24 x 7 Public WiFi Services in Kozhikode City. BSNL in association with Kozhikkode Corporation and Quadgen Wireless Solutions has started the WiFi service at 3 major locations in Kozhikkode City.
Now, public can access BSNL’s Free WiFi Services at Corporation Office, Beach Road -1, Kozhikode and Civil Station / Collectorate Kozhikode. Customers of any mobile company can access BSNL’s Free WiFi Services in these locations.
The inauguration of these WiFi Hotspots were done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the launch of Digital India programme on 1st July 2015.
BSNL will provide the back-haul bandwidth and Quadgen Wireless Solutions will implement the services in these locations. BSNL will provide WiFi coverage of 300 metres at each of these locations.
The facility will be available free of cost for the first 30 minutes in a day for a maximum of three occasions in a month for the same mobile number. Apart from this, the customers will have to pay a fixed tariff rate for using the WiFi and it can be available through physical recharge coupons or through online recharge method.
How to access BSNL WiFi (QFI) Services?
1. Steps to access FREE WiFi:
- Switch on your WiFi
- Connect to “QFI-BSNL” SSID
- Check for“Connected” status
- Open any browser
- Get redirected to QFI portal, Fill details & press “Submit”
- Receive OTP SMS
- Enter OTP in browser
- Start browsing
2. Steps to access Voucher based WiFi:
- Switch on your WiFi
- Connect to “QFI-BSNL” SSID
- Check for“Connected” status
- Open any browser
- Get redirected to QFI portal
- Scroll down, select “Voucher Login”, fill details
- Receive OTP SMS
- Enter OTP in browser
- Start browsing
3. Steps to access e-voucher based WiFi:
- Switch on your WiFi
- Connect to “QFI-BSNL” SSID
- Check for“Connected” status
- Open any browser
- Get redirected to QFI portal
- Scroll down, select “Paid Login”, Click New User
- Fill details & press “Submit”
- Redirect to Payment Gateway
- Select the banks/card for payment option & input details
- Upon successful transaction, OTP will be sent to your mobile, enter OTP and start browsing:
A Rs 30 coupon has to be used for using 30 minutes. For Rs 50 recharge, one can use the facility for one hour. For two hours, the cost is Rs 90 and for the whole day the amount will go up to Rs 150.
