State run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today announced that, the company has sold 2 million new mobile connections in January 2016. This is the best ever performance made by the PSU in subscriber addition.
As we reported earlier, BSNL activated around 17.5 lakhs of new mobile connections in December 2015. The latest TRAI report also highlighted the wonderful performance made by BSNL in monthly growth rate and net subscriber addition.
As per the latest information, 10 telecom circles achieved more than 100% of the target set for SIM sales in January 2016. The best performers are Bihar (211%), Jharkhand(191%) and Rajasthan (137%). Maximum number of new mobile connections were activated by UP (East), Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Recently, BSNL employees launched a new programme – Service with A Smile (SWAS) – with special focus to customer care and quality of services.This new theme was initially proposed by forum of BSNL unions / associations with special focus to customer care, to improve the quality of service and to substantially increase the number of landline, mobile, broadband and leased line customers.
To attract more mobile users to BSNL, the company recently slashed its voice call tariff up to 80% for both new as well as MNP Port-In customers. Now, mobile users joining BSNL family may enjoy the lowest call tariff of 10 paise / Minute to all local/STD BSNL numbers.

FREE All India Roaming (Voice & Data) and Lowest 3G Data Tariff are the attractions of BSNL Mobile Services. More and more new customers are being added to BSNL Network from other operators through Mobile Number Portability(MNP).
