BSNL has decided to launch App based voice calling service which allows its customers to make unlimited free voice calls to any network.
As we reported earlier, the PSU had launched App based VoIP calling services – FMT (Fixed Mobile Telephony) Services allowing customers to make landline calls from mobile phones. However, private operators argued that BSNL’s internet based Fixed Mobile Telephony (FMT) Service is against license norms.
BSNL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shri.Anupam Shrivastava said – “We are thinking of a subdued version of the app wherein
the service will be applicable within the home premises only. The main
objection was that BSNL was converting landline phones into mobiles by
this method. So we will limit this to home broadband. Even with cordless
handset, you can roam around the house, so we are thinking that instead
of cordless, the app will be there on the mobile which will be
connected to landline and most of the calls could be made through that.”
BSNL’s Zero Voice tariff plans will be available for those who have landline broadband connection and mobile connection from BSNL. The PSU will be offering Zero Voice plans which will be much cheaper than Reliance Jio’s entry level plan priced @ Rs 149/-. These plans will be initially available for BSNL customers in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Punjab and UP telecom circles.
“Our strategy is to combine the broadband and mobile and offer free voice call. The plans will be cheaper than Rs 149 by Rs 2 to Rs 4 to compete with Jio,” BSNL CMD added.

Cheating in disguise. One should have a landline with rentals ranging 250-500 pm plus a charge for broadband and some others fees. How can it beat with Jio's 149 ? The charge will be exorbitant. Hidden chargers ate not given or published !

who needs these type of application based calling software with 3 g connectivity.only 149 rupees jio gives unlimited talk over from a 4g telephone.
