The PSU has a strong market penetration and significant share in these telecom circles. Unlike Jio’s offer that is available for only 4G subscribers, the
BSNL plan will be open to 2G and 3G users, which constitute the majority
of mobile customers.
BSNL Chairman cum Managing Director Shri. Anupam Shrivastava told – “We are closely observing the market as well as Jio’s performance. We
will also come up with lifetime free-voice plans from the new year as
part of fresh offerings. We plan to be even lower than the Jio plan, and
this could be by Rs 2-4.”
BSNL’s Zero Voice tariff plans will be offered to BSNL mobile customers who also have broadband connection at home. The PSU plans to route the voice traffic through its landline network. However, the free-voice facility will also be available when a subscriber would use it outside the residence.
“The idea is to use the home broadband to route outgoing mobile calls through the landline network. We estimate that a large amount of time is spent at home, and so here we can ride on our wire-line operations,” – BSNL CMD added.
Customers choosing Zero Voice tariff plans will be offered unlimited lifetime free voice calls from their BSNL Mobile. The MRP of the Zero Voice tariff plan will be less than Rs 149/- by Rs 2 to 4.

Makes no sense. Lol
will be offered unlimited voice calls from bsnl to any network at monthly rent of Rs 145 / Rs 147 which is lower than 149 offered by jio.
all these are dreams of BSNL.bsnl had started fixed mobile telephony same like zero voice tariff, but due to opposition of other mobile operators bsnl has cancelled the FMT.the fate of this zero voice is also would be same like as fmt.lets see this will go to the water.
this is one type of FMT only.but the diffrence is that FMT work over every wifi or uopn any data or anyware in the world .but zero voice plan will work over the bsnl 3g,2g or over bsnl wifi.
Only for broadband customers? 😂 I had to unsubscribe it because of bad service. Their staff including JTO was acting helpless when we request them to resolve problems. They were good with making excuses other than solving problems.
This is not the way to challenge Jio. If BSNL truly want to compete with Jio then should offer free Voice (2G/3G) if a subscriber enrolls for a monthly data plan (Prepaid/Postpaid) as is in Jio.
