In an attempt to boost broadband customer base and to increase customer satisfaction, state run telecom giant, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plans to offer minimum 4 Mbps download speed across all the broadband plans.
As per the latest information, BSNL is busy in taking decision on the proposal of offering minimum up to 4 Mbps initial speed across all the existing broadband plans. At present, BSNL offers minimum up to 2 Mbps download speed in all ADSL/VDSL/FTTH broadband plans.
This latest speed up-gradation, if approved by BSNL authorities will be a great step taken by the PSU in boosting broadband penetration in the country. This will certainly improve customer satisfaction to a great extent.
BSNL’s past Speed Up-gradations
- BSNL upgraded its minimum initial download speed of all broadband plans to 2 Mbps instead of 512 Kbps with effect from 1st October 2015
- BSNLrevised post FUP download speed to 1 Mbps in all broadband plans with effect from 1st August 2016
BSNL started offering optical fiber broadband services (FTTH – Fiber To The Home) in almost all rural and urban areas with the help of Bharat Net project (NOFN – National Optical Fiber Network) rolled out by Government of India. BSNL has already extended gigabit optical fiber connectivity in all Gram Panchayat Offices in the country. Broadband connectivity to customer premises (last mile connectivity) may be extended from these locations through overhead optical fiber cables.

when will implement for this plan?
ok
Users be careful: If you go for 4Mbps but cable pair is not good means you will not get even what you are getting in 2mbps.
Distance between exchange and home is the determining factor of stable speed.
Please sir provide atleast 2MBPs after FUP… 2GB or 10GB or even 30Gb not enough at higher speed….So please make minimum speed 2MBps….
Thanks

This speed should be post fup not only till 2 GB.
Make it 2Mbps after Post FUP.
BSNL should make sure that minimum 2 Mbps speed after FUP.
upto 4 mbps speed FUP limite of 1GB after 1mbps ha ha ha what a funny offer
4Mbps=500KB/s
True,2MB means 190 kb/S to BSNL….But jio 4g is giving 2 or 3MB /S on mobile network. So why BSNL is not interested to provide such a speed as jio do…?
Make it 4MBPS WITHOUT ANY FUP AS YOU ARE PROVIDING 10 GB PER DAY AT 2MBPS FLAT SPEED FOR YOUR RS 249 PLAN AND ONLY 2MBPS FOR RS 675 AND ABOVE PLANS AND THAT TOO AFTER FUP THE SPEED IS VERY SLOW.
THE LOCAL BROADBAND ARE PROVIDING FASTER SPEEDS,TRULY UNLIMITED AND AT PRICES SIMILAR OR LOWER THAN YOURS.
4mbps will be a good move by BSNL and will be welcomed by all users pan India. Today the download requirements and increasing.
If at all you are not approving 4Mbps then at least increase the upload speed to 1Mbps. The current upload speed is about 30KB/s which is really low.
Gmail attachments take and cloud takes hours to upload
What about Bsnl Wimax?
