State run telecom major, Bharat sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to introduce Roam Like Home (RLH) for its Prepaid mobile customers in all the circles.
As per the latest information, all BSNL prepaid mobile customers will be allowed to use freebies under Voice STVs / SMS STVs / Combo Vouchers in Home LSA and in National Roaming without any additional charges. However, RLH facility will be available only while roaming in BSNL area. It means, Voice / SMS / Combo STVs of your home circle will not work while you are in MTNL area (Delhi & Mumbai).
An official statement from BSNL regarding the launch of Roam Like Home facility read as follows – “It has been decided by competent authority, to allow Voice/ SMS STVs/Combo Vouchers in Home LSA and National Roaming in BSNL area (excluding Mumbai and Delhi) under prepaid mobile services.”
The above offer will be implemented with effect from 15-08-2017 on wards. This is really an excellent move from BSNL to couter Reliance Jio. As we already know, BSNL launched much more attractive and economical tariff plans than Jio like – BSNL Sixer Plan, Triple Ace Data STV, BSNL Chaukka Data STV etc. This new offer will certainly give an added advantage to BSNL as compared to other private operators.
What does it mean?
This means that a customer may use the same STV while he/she travels anywhere in India except (Delhi & Mumbai). A customer may use any Voice / SMS / Data / Combo STV of his choice and he may continue to enjoy the freebies even he is in national roaming.

For example, if a customer recharges with the BSNL STV 349 plan, which offers unlimited voice calls to any network in the home circle for 26 days. At present, free calls are available only from his home circle. From 15th August 2017 on wards, a customer may use the STV even hi is travelling out of his home circle. (except Delhi & Mumbai)
