As we have reported on 7th August 2020, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched – ‘BookMyFiber’ – portal for consumers to book BSNL FTTH (Fiber Broadband) connections anywhere in India.
The PSU is taking all pro-active steps during this pandemic period to serve its customers by opening all major customer service centres across the country. As Covid-19 is spreading fast, most of the corporate employees are working from home and this leads to huge demand for reliable and stable internet connectivity.
BSNL – India’s largest wire-line operator rose to the occasion and they were able to satisfy the customer demand by offering superior quality fiber broadband services with the help of Telecom Infrastructure Providers(TIPs) / Local Cable Operators (LCOs). With the partnership of TIPs/LCOs, BSNL is able to cover the nook and corner of the country. Now BSNL FTTH service is available in almost all rural and urban areas directly by BSNL or through TIPs/LCOs.

All ADSL Broadband plans having Fixed Monthly Charges of Rs 500/- and above are available on FTTH on same tariff.
BSNL’s FTTH plans are starting from Rs 499/- on wards. Unlike other internet service providers, BSNL FTTH comes bundled with unlimited voice calls through VoIP service without any additional cost. BSNL’s starting FTTH Plan 499 offers 20Mbps download speed till 200GB whereas Plan 1999 offers 200Mbps download speed till 1500GB.

What are the Initial charges for BSNL FTTH Connection?
One month plan charges as security deposit (refundable) + Rs 250/- (installation charges) will be charged in the first bill in addition to the monthly rent.
FTTH Modem Rental Scheme
Customers may also opt for modem rental scheme from BSNL. If modem is on rental scheme, Rs 500 security deposit for modem may also come in the first bill. In rental option, Rs 90/- will be charged as modem rent in addition to the subscribed tariff plan.

Is it possible to change my existing fiber connection to BSNL FTTH ?
Most of the LCOs are already having connectivity to multiple internet service providers like – Asianet, Kerala Vision, DWAN, Kings, Alliance etc. So if any one is having speed issues or complaints in your existing FTTH connection, you can simply switch over to BSNL FTTH for better quality of service and assured bandwidth and free VoIP services without any additional cost. You may need to submit your KYC documents to your LCO / nearest BSNL Office. So, don’t wait, ask your Local Cable Operator (LCO) to change your connection to BSNL FTTH and enjoy uninterrupted service with assured speed.
