BSNL Safe Custody Plan for Landline, Broadband and Bharat Fiber (FTTH) | What is safe custody in BSNL Broadband?

BSNL Customers, who do not intend to use their Landline / Broadband / Bharat Fiber (FTTH) / BBoWiFi connection for more than three months period and want to ensure that their line or connection is not misused in their absence, can avail the Safe Custody Plan at very nominal charges. The telephone connection and broadband internet service will be disabled for the period of safe custody.

BSNL safe custody plan allows customers to keep safe their telephone facilities (Landline , Broadband or Bharat Fiber) when not using the service for a certain period of time without disconnecting the services. Customers can retain their telephone connection by paying nominal charges in safe custody plan. To avail BSNL safe custody plan, customers are adviced to make the payment in advance for the specified period of time as per the tariff given below.

Charges for BSNL Landline/Broadband/FTTH/BBoWiFi Safe Custody Plan

The safe custody of Broadband shall be permitted on the written
request of the subscriber on a plain paper, clearly indicating that
the Broadband connection is to be kept under safe custody along
with the fixed line telephone connection. The safe custody charges will be Rs. 50/- per month for urban areas and Rs. 30/- per month for Rural areas. The above charges are applicable with effect from 05-05-2019 on wards on PAN India basis.

BSNL Broadband Safe Custody  with Waiting List

In the exchanges/ areas where waiting list exists for
providing Broadband connection, fixed charge of Rs.100 per
month (for line busy) may be charged from the customer for safe
custody of Broadband connections.

What is the Minimum Period for Safe Custody?

The minimum period of safe custody will be three months. The charges will be paid in advance. The charges are to be paid in advance.

How to Activate BSNL Safe Custody Plan?

The service shall be permitted only on written request of the authorized subscriber to concerned commercial officer at nearesr BSNL Customer Service Center (BSNL CSC) clearly indicating that the connection (Landline / Bharat Fiber / BBoWiFi) is to be kept under ‘Safe Custody’ from the date. The advance rent also need to be paid at the time of application for the safe custody period.

When we have to pay BSNL Safe Custody Charges?

The indicated fixed monthly charges shall be levied in the bill. So customers can make the payment after the activation of plan. However, it is always suggested to make the payment in advance at the time of application itself at BSNL Customer Service Center.

Whether we have to return the BSNL Accessories on Safe Custody ?

The modem supplied by BSNL or any other related accessories may
be recovered from the subscriber along with telephone instrument
for keeping the same under safe custody of BSNL.

How to restore BSNL landline / Broadband / FTTH connection from Safe Custody?

BSNL landline / broadband / FTTH connection will be released only on written request from the customer. To get their telephone facilities activated, a customer need to submit written request in nearest BSNL Office or BSNL Customer Service Center (BSNL CSC). Customer can choose any plan at the time of restoration of service.

Safe Custody Plan for Annual Plan opted Customers

Adjustment of yearly advance of a particular annual tariff plan of
Broadband connection : In this case, the credit balance of annual
charges against the customer under Broadband Service, should
remain in tact. Only the period of such charges should get
extended by the period for which the connection remains closed
under safe custody.
