BSNL today announced that, activation of ISD STV 25 for Bangladesh, Malaysia and Hong Kong can be done via C-Top Up and Online Recharge. Earlier, BSNL customers were allowed to activate ISD STV 25 via SMS mode only.
The revised activation method for ISD STV 25 is applicable with effect from 11th December 2020 onwards. By activating ISD STV 25, BSNL prepaid mobile customers can make outgoing voice calls to Bangladesh, Malaysia & Hong Kong at just Rs 2.49/min for 30 days. In addition, customers may also enjoy reduced international SMS tariff of Rs 3/SMS to Bangladesh, Malaysia & Hong Kong in ISD STV 25.

All the above ISD STVs can be activated by SMS as well as C-Top Up / Online Recharge. To activate any STV via SMS, customers having sufficient prepaid account balance (account balance greater than the MRP of desired STV) need to send the STV Code to toll free short code 123. STV will be activated after deducting the MRP amount from prepaid balance after the receipt of activation SMS from customer.
BSNL’s Prepaid International Roaming
BSNL ISD STVs allows customers to make outgoing voice calls to other countries from India whereas BSNL International Roaming facility allows customers to use the same mobile number while travelling anywhere in the world. At present, BSNL offers Prepaid International Roaming facility in more than 52 countries in the world. It means, BSNL prepaid mobile customers can use the same mobile number while travelling to other countries. Customers can activate BSNL’s Prepaid International Roaming facility on their existing number in just two steps.
Step 1. Replace SIM Card
Customers may change their existing SIM card with BSNL Prepaid International Roaming enabled SIM cards from nearest Customer service centers. Customers are requested to submit a copy of ID proof or Aadhar card to get international roaming enabled Dual IMSI SIM card.
Step 2. Recharge International Roaming STV
After getting new SIM card which is enabled with International Roaming, the facility can be activated with BSNL’s International Roaming STVs – either STV 58 or 168. IR STV 58 offers 30 days validity whereas IR STV 168 offers 90 days validity. After the expiry, a customer may recharge with any of these two IR STVs to get continued International Roaming Service on your BSNL prepaid mobile number. This STV can be activated on any of the existing BSNL Prepaid Mobile Plans.

BSNL also provides Data Roaming facility across the world. Roaming in Foreign operator’s mobile network requires a compatible Handset which is capable of working in frequency bands used by the networks in the country visited.
