Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today announced that, they will allow Lifetime validity for all prepaid mobile connections under C-Top Up category. C-Top Up prepaid mobile connections are special category mobile connections being used by BSNL retailers and Direct Selling Agents (DSAs) for recharge / top up / bill collection etc.
However, there is a catch in the lifetime validity – a retailer / DSA need to do at least one transaction / recharge in each 90 days. It means, BSNL will deleting or disconnecting all inactive C-Top Up connections which are lying idle without any transactions. This revised validity condition for BSNL C-Top Up connections are applicable with effect from 18th January 2021 onwards across all telecom circles.
An Official statement regarding the revision in validity of prepaid C-Top Up connections read as follows:-
Now, the competent authority has decided to extend the validity of prepaid C-Top Up connections as “Lifetime” as under:-
For the prepaid C-Top UP SIMs, the validity is modified as “Lifetime”. These connections shall be removed / deleted / disconnected subject to non-fulfillment of condition that “there should be at least one transaction/recharge in each 90 days”.
The list for disconnection of prepaid C-Top Up connections due to non-recharge / non-activity in 90 days will deleted / disconnected immediately. C-Top Up connections in Grace Period-II (GP-II) can be reactivated by the recharge of STVs/PVs as done by normal retail customer. Similarly, Top Up recharge is not allowed for the C-Top Up GP-II customers as in the case of normal retail customers. The above tariff will be implemented with immediate effect on PAN India basis from 18th January 2021.
BSNL to Revamp Mobile Sales & Marketing Activities
This latest decision was taken by BSNL in an attempt to increase sales and marketing activities through its franchisee network. BSNL is taking all out efforts to get maximum output from franchisees by assigning realistic targets and continuous follow up actions to achieve the same. Recently, BSNL Kerala Circle has floated tender to appoint new franchisees in 12 territories where the performance of existing franchisee was found un-satisfactory. After VRS 2019, BSNL is executing almost all operations and maintenance activities through outsourced model. BSNL has also decided to initiate similar actions against non-performing franchisees operating in other segments like – landline, FTTH (Bharat Fiber), mobile & infra maintenance etc.
BSNL RED Scheme 2020
BSNL introduced BSNL RED (Retired Employee distributor) Scheme wherein a retired BSNL Official can become a part of BSNL Sales Team for selling BSNL Products or Services on commission basis. This scheme (BSNL RED Scheme 2020) was launched soon after the implementation of BSNL VRS Scheme 2019 where around 80,000 employees opted for Voluntary Retirement Scheme on 29th February 2020. Many of the VRS optees were previously working in Sales & Marketing units of the BSNL telecom circles. To address the shortage of direct selling agent / Sales persons and to make use of experienced BSNL VRS optees, BSNL introduced RED (Retired Employee distributor) Scheme 2020. <<<Click Here To See More Details about BSNL RED Scheme 2020>>>
