BSNL has announced the launch of two new ultra fast unlimited Bharat Air Fiber Plans – ‘AirFibre Ultra’ & ‘AirFibre Ultra Plus’ with immediate effect across all the telecom circles. As per the latest information, these two new Air Fiber plans will offer maximum of 80Mbps download speed and One Free Static IP address.
True unlimited voice calls to any network is also included in ‘AirFibre Ultra’ & ‘AirFibre Ultra Plus’ plans without any additional cost. Download speed in BSNL AirFibre Ultra plan is 80Mbps with FUP limit of 5000GB data in a month. After crossing the data limit speed will be limited to 15Mbps. Whereas 7500GB high speed data usage at 80Mbps is allowed in AirFibre Ultra Plus plan. Here, the post FUP download speed will be 25Mbps and hence customers can continue to enjoy unlimited broadband internet even after crossing the FUP limit.

In order to make voice solution as financially viable under above ‘Bharat AirFibre’ plans, voice service is to be offered through SIP platform by installing BSNLs App WINGS without additional cost to customers who are refusing to opt these plans due to high price of IP phone for voice calling. Hence, customer will be given voice service either through the App or regular phone attached through CPE, but not both. The revenue share to the ‘Radio Broadband Service Partners’ (RBSP) shall be given as per Bharat Air Fibre policy. These instructions shall be implemented with immediate effect on regular basis in all the circles (except A&N circle).
What is BSNL Bharat Air Fiber Service?
Getting Fiber broadband internet connection or even wired broadband in remote parts or rural part of India is a difficult task. To overcome this issue in connecting rural India, our state run operator, BSNL launched Bharat Air Fiber Services. BSNL Bharat Air Fibre will enable homes in rural areas with broadband, voice and IPTV services, which is different from the company’s Bharat Fibre FTTH service that users wired technology and is targeted at urban homes.
BSNL Bharat Air Fibre service is a wireless, or more precisely radio-based last mile telecom connectivity solution. It uses unlicensed spectrum (which are not been licensed to any entity) that has less interference to provide internet service. It also uses line-of-sight radio waves to deploy the service. Bharat Air Fiber is completely wireless and offers broadband up to 100Mbps up to a distance of 5 Kms which can go beyond 5 Kms based on the Air media and the range. BSNL is very aggressively pursuing this service and has brought in new policies with lot of flexibilities for utilizing this Bharat Air Fiber Service to provide customer connections across any terrains of the country.
How can I apply for BSNL Air Fiber?
To apply for BSNL Air Fiber, you need to contact your local BSNL telephone exchange or BSNL Customer Service Centre (BSNL CSC). If Air Fiber Service is available, you may submit duly filled application form, copy of ID proof and address proof and a passport size photograph. The connection will be provided after checking coverage / feasibility by BSNL’s Air Fiber franchisee.
