When the people are desperately searching for a stable internet connectivity, BSNL – the one and only state run PSU rose to the occasion and provided more than 1.1 lakh new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) Broadband internet connections in June 2021.
After the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, when almost all business establishments as well as educational institutions had shifted to online platform, BSNL was the only internet service provider who could satisfy the ever increasing demand for customers for assured bandwidth and stability. BSNL fiber net connections are considered to be the most reliable as well as economical fiber broadband internet connection which is available in India. By entering into partnership with Telecom Infrastructure Providers (TIPs), Local Cable TV Operators (LCOs) and Multi System Operators (MSOs), BSNL has acquired carpet coverage for gigabit fibernet connections in the country.

Out of the total 27 telecom circles, BSNL Kerala Telecom Circle has provided the maximum number of new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) connection in June 2021 which is followed by Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. BSNL Kerala Circle has activated 27,322 new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) connection with the active participation of TIPs/LCOs. Tamil Nadu telecom circle is at second position with 16,143 new BSNL FTTH connections and the 3rd position is occupied by Maharashtra circle with 8,737 activations.

In Kerala Circle, BSNL Kozhikkode (Calicut) Business Area has provided 5025 new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) connections in June 2021 which is followed by Kannur with 3058 connections. Kollam Business Area is at third place with 2846 new activations.
BSNL – TIP Revenue share business model – The Key to Success
At present, BSNL is providing Bharat Fiber (FTTH) connections all over India through TIPs/LCOs/MSOs. BSNL FTTH connections are available at nook and corner of the country through these partnership arrangement and hence customers can avail BSNL FTTH services almost anywhere in India. BSNL is the only ISP who could provide stable internet connectivity during these pandemic period while almost all other private ISPs failed to maintain their network.
