India’s largest wireline operator – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the extension of 100% Free Installation Charge Offer for new broadband connections across all telecom circles for another 90 days. All new BSNL Broadband / BSNL Landline connections (Copper / Fiber / Air Fiber / BBoWiFi) are covered under the free installation charge offer.
BSNL’s Free Installation Charge Offer is currently available for a period up to 3rd August 2021 across all the telecom circles. Since this promotional scheme helped BSNL to add millions of new FTTH broadband customers, BSNL authorities has decided to extend the same scheme further for another period of 90 days starting from 5th August 2021. New customers can avail this promotional 100% Free Installation Offer in their first month telephone / broadband bill itself. New Bharat Fiber (FTTH), Bharat Air Fibre (BAF), DSL Broadband, Broadband over WiFi (BBoWiFi) and Landline customers of BSNL can avail this promotional offer.
An Official statement from BSNL regarding the extension of promotional scheme of 100% Free Installation Charge Offer read as follows:-
Now, competent authority has decided “to waive off installation charges of Rs. 250/- (for Cu connections) and Rs. 500/- (for Bharat Fibre connections) currently levied on BSNL Landline/Broadband connections (Cu/Fibre/BBoWiFi/Bharat Air Fibre) on promotional basis for 90 days in all the circles”.
The above instructions shall be implemented with effect from 05-08-2021 on promotional basis for a period of 90 days i.e., up to 2nd November 2021 in all the circles.

BSNL is doing wonders with new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) plans!
BSNL launched new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) plans in last year as part of BSNL’s foundation day celebrations. Initially BSNL launched four new FTTH plans which were – Fiber Basic, Fiber Value, Fiber Premium and Fiber Ultra. Since then, we had witnessed a sudden surge in new FTTH customer base for BSNL all over India. In addition to new Bharat Fiber (FTTH) plans, BSNL had also changed it’s FTTH policy. Revenue share agreements were signed with Local Cable TV Operators (LCOs), Telecom Infrastructure Providers (TIPs) and Multi System Operators (MSOs) by BSNL. These revenue share agreements were the real game changers for BSNL. BSNL succeeded in attaining more investors and local entrepreneurs to build and operate their own optical fiber network.
Later, BSNL launched a few more customer friendly and economical FTTH plans like – Fiber Basic Plus Plan, Experience Fiber Plan etc. These low cost BSNL FTTH plans further intensified the tariff war in fiber broadband segment in India. Now BSNL is adding millions of new FTTH (Bharat Fiber) connections all over India with the help of franchisees and telecom infrastructure providers (LCOs/TIPs/MSOs).
