BSNL has announced the introduction of two new bulk user WiFi plans – ‘WiFi-BU-212’ & ‘WiFi-BU-234’ for providing WiFi services to Bulk User customers in association with Hotspot WiFi Service Providers (HSSPs).
In addition to the introduction of new plans, the PSU has also decided to withdraw one of its existing bulk user WiFi plans – ‘WiFi-BU-214’ for new customers. Withdrawn plan will not be available for new customers whereas existing customers in the plan will continue. These latest tariff revision are applicable with effect from 3rd June 2021 across all the telecom circles.
An Official circular from BSNL regarding the revision in tariff for bulk user WiFi plans read as follows:-
It has been decided by the Competent Authority “to withdraw the Bulk user WiFi plans ‘WiFi-BU-214’ for new customers and introduce two new Bulk user WiFi plans for providing WiFi services to Bulk user customer in association with HSSP (Hot Spot Service Provider)”.

The revenue share with HSSPs shall be shared as per their respective work order/agreement. The above instructions shall be applicable with effect from 03-06-2021 in all the Circles. All other existing Bulk user WiFi plans for providing WiFi services to Bulk user customer in association with HSSP and other terms & conditions shall remain same as per earlier circulars.

Enterprise Business / Corporate customers like Hotels, Hospitals, Universities, Colleges, Local Self Governing bodies, Public Libraries etc may avail BSNL WiFi services at most affordable tariff plans. BSNL will be installing these WiFi access points through WiFi service providers. Tariff plans depends on the number of access points (APs) & backhaul bandwidth provided to hot spot location. BSNL will be responsible for WiFi user authentication, authorization and accounting and hence bulk user customer need not worry about user authentication and related issues.
