BSNL has decided to increase the tariff for calls to Nepal for prepaid connections. Presently BSNL offers an ISD STV of Rs.18 which is used exclusively for prepaid mobile customers to make voice calls to Nepal at a discounted tariff of Rs.6.50/Minute for a period of 30 days.
The revised ISD STV (Recharge 18) for Nepal offers the same benefits but at a higher tariff of Rs.8.50/Minute for 30 days. This revision in the plan will be valid across all the telecom circles and will be implemented from 23.01.2015.
BSNL has introduced new ISD STVs to our neighboring countries like Nepal & Bhutan as per the directives from Department of Telecommunications (DoT) since private mobile operators are charging high.

As per reports, termination rates of Nepal are very high and private operators in India are charging 40 paisa said Industry body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) Director General Rajan S Mathews.
