    BSNL to upgrade the download speed and FUP limit of FTTH Broadband plans up to 300% from 1st May 2016 on wards in all the circles

    To compete with private broadband operators, state run telecom major – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to upgrade the download speed (bandwidth) and FUP limit of FTTH ‘Fibro’ Broadband plans in all the circles from 1st May 2016.

    As per the latest information, BSNL will be increasing the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit up to 300% without any hike in monthly rental. The post FUP download speed (bandwidth) also will be doubled from 01-05-2016. This up-gradation of download speed and FUP limit will be applicable to all the existing and new FTTH Broadband customers in all the circles.

    All other terms and conditions shall remain same. The revised tariff shall be effective with effect from 01-05-2016 in all the circles. The revised tariff will be applicable to all the existing and new FTTH Broadband customers in all the circles. BSNL FTTH customers who requires WiFi facility may purchase ADSL WiFi modem along with FTTH ONT at reduced price of Rs 200/-.

    BSNL Fiber Broadband plans are best suited for both enterprise as well as home customers. The fibre connectivity having unlimited bandwidth and state of the art technology provides fix access platform to deliver the high speed broadband up to 100 Mbps, IPTV having different type of contents like HDTV and future coming 3D TV and range of voice telephony services etc.

    The only drawback of BSNL fiber broadband services is that, presently they offer FTTH services only in a few cities. To overcome this difficulty in extending Fiber Broadband services to rural and remote villages, BSNL has decided to sign a revenue sharing agreement with private Cable TV operators.

      I have been a subscriber of BSNL landline for about 25 years and using Broadband for 8 years.Though I am fed up of lodging my complaints at every level about poor connectivity of BSNL BROADBAND yet reluctant to go for other private service providers .I can opt for BSNL FTTH Broadband if my existing landline number which I have been using for last 25 years.Is it possible for BSNL to keep my old existing number in FTTH ?
