From 1st June 2016, service tax rate in India has been increased to 15% from 14.5% due to the introduction of Krishi Kalyan Cess @ 0.5%.
To compensate for the hike in service tax, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to revise the MRP of EVDO and CDMA Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) and Plan

As per the latest information, BSNL has increased the MRP of EVDO and CDMA prepaid STVs on PAN India basis. The revised Service Tax rate is applicable to C-Top Up / Flexy Top Up vouchers also.
Revised EVDO and CDMA Prepaid STVs due to Increase in Service tax ( due to Krishi Kalyan Cess )
- Top Up / C-Top Up / Flexi Top Up: Service tax @ 15.00 % will be deducted on Top Up / C-Top Up / Flexi Top Up instead of 14.50%.

The existing validity of EVDO and CDMA prepaid STVs remain the same. These latest revision in MRP of EVDO and CDMA Prepaid STVs shall be applicable with immediate effect across all telecom circles.
