I hate the word upto with the speed. Upto 4Mbps indicates 0 to 4 Mbps that depends on various factors as per statement of providers.
Now plus minus 2% to 5% variation in speed is tolerable with a certain label of fixed speed assurance by providers(say 2 Mbps or 4Mbps). Moreover keeping in view poor maintenance by BSNL has only pushed away customers, a bold step should be taken to reach out customers with optical fibers rather than existing copper cables. Further with a futuristic planning, laying of optical fibres should be such that in no case they are damaged due to civil works taken up by local bodies. Then only reliability and past glory of bsnl will return. Survey can done in locality to find out the number of people interested to join hassle free fibre optic network that will help reducing cost per connection in a locality. A complaint job card daily should be issued in morning to the maintenance team. 1 JE (maintenance) along with a team of 5 to 10 men responsible for repairing job should be made to look after the complaints of a specific area and satisfactory work completion certificate to be obtained from users and submitted daily in the office in the evening. Any higher authority to such JE must verify from users the authenticity of user signed job certificate submitted in office over phone. If the complaints are not not attended to satisfactorily or neglected then action against concerned BSNL employee must be taken in form of penalty deduction from salary, stopping increment, suspension or dismissal depending upon frequency of such negligence in duty.
Even in densly populated Kerala BSNL is unable to provide the system mentioned above.Lack of supesrvision appears to be the reason for delay in maintenance work and the supervisors should be taken to rask if delay occurs. At present cables are lying open on the road and vehicles passing over them resulting in frequent break in communication.BSNL must take care of these.
Do something for WIMAX. Otherwise Kerala WIMAX customers will soon switch to Jio…
Thats a wonderful decision.
