Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the revision in validity of all existing prepaid mobile STVs (Special Tariff Vouchers) from ‘Days’ to ‘Calendar Days’ from 1st July 2016 on PAN India basis.
The latest revision is applicable to all existing corporate STVs which includes – Voice, SMS, Data, ISD and Combo vouchers except the recently launched Night Data STVs. As we reported earlier, the PSU revised the validity of all existing 3G/2G Data STVs from ‘Days’ to ‘Calendar Days’ with effect from 1st May 2016 in all telecom circles.
Later, BSNL Corporate Office has given special permission to offer validity in Days instead of Calendar Days to Data STV 68 (PAN India basis) and Data STV 17 (for South Zone Circles Only). Now, BSNL authorities has decided to withdraw this special permission also.
An official statement regarding the revision in validity of STVs read as follow: “It has been decided to change the Validity of all Corporate STVs/Combo Vouchers from ‘Days’ to ‘Calendar Days’ i.e. the validity of STVs/Combo Vouchers will be up to 23:59 Hours of last day of validity irrespective of time of recharge of validity on first day. This is to be implemented with effect from 1st July 2016. This tariff revision covers all the STVs/Combo Vouchers like voice/SMS/Data/ISD etc. issued by BSNL Corporate Office except Night Data STVs.“
It means that while counting the validity, the Day of
Recharge (irrespective of time) also will be counted as ONE DAY. If a
customer is activating a new 3G data pack of Rs 78 having 5 days
validity on today (18-06-2016) at 2 PM, the data pack will expire on
Fifth day i.e., on 22-06-2016. It will be applicable to all existing
prepaid STVs from 1st July 2016 in all the circles.
Recharge (irrespective of time) also will be counted as ONE DAY. If a
customer is activating a new 3G data pack of Rs 78 having 5 days
validity on today (18-06-2016) at 2 PM, the data pack will expire on
Fifth day i.e., on 22-06-2016. It will be applicable to all existing
prepaid STVs from 1st July 2016 in all the circles.
“The deferment of change in validity of Data STV 68 (on Pan-India basis) and Data STV 17 (for South Zone only) granted is also withdrawn. Thus validity of Data STV 68 and Data STV 17 will also be changed from ‘Days’ to ‘Calendar Days’ with effect from 1st July 2016.”
